Hello my friends,
It’s been a while; I’ve been so busy with finishing up my manuscript. I literally have no time to eat or sleep anymore as my deadline is coming up; September 15th. That’s the PitchWars opening day, so I got to be ready for it!
I’m still in the line editing phase, looking at each line and each word and trying to make it better, more beautiful, or shorter, more concise, or with stronger verbs. I can tell you it’s quite a hefty task, hours and hours each day for the past few months. Maybe I still have too many words, hmmm…
And guess what I found along the way…
formatting your manuscript.
I had no idea I needed to do that, or how I needed to do that. I was so naïve, I thought I just write my story and send it off to an editor and they will edit it. But nooooo… that’s not how it works!
I’ve been editing four times now, rewriting and deleting a lot. A lot. And now in the final stage of completion, I come across the standard way of formatting on the web. And let me tell you; it would’ve been so much easier if I had known that in advance!
So, to you, my fellow newby writers, aspiring authors; you must format your manuscript to a certain, set standard. It took me an entire day to do it afterwards. So, do this as soon as you find out, I’ll link the post I used, you’ll be thanking me for it, trust me…
Keep writing, guys!
